Hey, follow me on Clubhouse. Follow you on what?! “Cube” House doesn’t show on Google but there are hundreds of articles about an audio conferencing app called Clubhouse. This thing is blowing up… look at this article, it says it’s the next unicorn. $12 million investment already… SH*T.
Let’s download this app and see what all the hype is about. I mean… this seems like Zoom without video. Wait, this guy named Elon actually sounds like Elon Musk. No way… people are actually having a conversation with Elon. Now I get it. I clearly see the possibilities and demand given signups and investor dollars continue to pour in. Man… this thing is glitchy – every time I tap something, a red error message appears. O well, they are still growing at a rapid pace.

Think… think… think… What are the reasons people love this app so much? A bunch of these reviews mention the stage and audience concept and having access to celebrities. What if there was a video version strictly for entrepreneurs to collaborate, refer and grow. I’ll draw it up this weekend and start Monday.
We’re halfway to completion but something is missing. Different focus groups keep describing it as Zoom, Clubhouse and LinkedIn having a baby. Maybe it should be an evolved version of LinkedIn for Entrepreneurs. I’ll call it BUILD. Let’s pitch a couple investors to hear their thoughts. This isn’t my first rodeo so I know how important money will be to pull this off. Good thing I have Bleeding Bulb, my app development company. I need to sell some more apps and websites so I can fund this project. A new email from Marty in my BNI group. “Can you build a custom scheduler that connects to Service Titan.” Can I?! We can build anything! Let’s talk.That call was interesting. This Marty guy is clearly passionate about HVAC companies. The call went from talking about the requirements of the scheduler to statistic, statistic, percentage, percentage… it was like listening to an infographic. This guy sounds smart but let’s see if Google agrees lol. Yep, he’s smart! Let’s close this deal.

Soo… this quote is too high. We can’t move forward at this amount but I’m telling you this tool would kill it in this market. Do you know what Service Titan is or anything about their growth?! Percentage this, percentage that, dollar this, dollar that.
I can’t Google fast enough to check all the statistics he’s mentioning but I saw enough to make me respond, “How about I meet you halfway with the cost but I will own the product and bring it to market?”

Now I’m curious. What does Google have to say about Service Titan’s CRM? Woowww… $800M raised and $250M/year in sales… just catering to HVAC, Plumbers and Electricians… hmm. Let’s dig deeper. The reviews are a mixed bag but the complaints are getting me excited. Consistent cost increases, poor user experience, limited support but it’s still considered the best option available with few competitors.

I wanted to talk more about ways you can attack this industry with your expertise. Are you cool with walking around the block? So… after walking around the block nearly 50 times, I am officially impressed. I took so many notes and caught every piece of insight.
This is it! This allows us to stay true to the brand, helping businesses grow but now the path is clearer. The scheduler will feed into BUILD which will now manage the business since we already have a head start from prior development.
Three meetings later and I’m still learning something new each time about the Trades industry and their shortcomings. I need to figure out what’s in it for him so all expectations are clear. Next meeting I’ll bring it up.
Frank, I just want you to know I don’t mind sharing information if you are going to do something with it. I just want you to help people that are being taken advantage of in the trades. What… Marty is a mind-reader too?! He went on to say, just make sure anything you make stays simple because most of the people in our field are not tech savvy.

I think we need to rebrand and focus on getting business owners a return on their investment without being a business or technology guru. Moving forward, BUILD will be ROI. We will also adopt the Marty measurement before any launch to ensure tools remain intuitive and effective.

ROI Pros was founded in 2021 as a response to small businesses being negatively impacted by the Pandemic. Initially, our name was, BUILD, a video chat tool inspired by Clubhouse that focused on creating a better way for small businesses to share experiences, seek mentorship and grow referral networks.
After a couple pivots, our Founder, Frank Goodman met with a client that opened his eyes to the challenges and opportunities within often overlooked industries like the Trades and In-Home Care. After a ton of research and several interviews, we decided to carve our path as a SaaS provider for service-based businesses.
We started with a website scheduler that grew traction while converting our initial tool into a CRM. Now, everything we do is centered around helping business owners focus on their craft while we focus on getting them the ROI they deserve.
